Your student does the applying; you're probably the one worrying. Here's exactly what Admit stores, who can see it, and the promises we keep — short answers first, detail below each. If anything here is unclear, email admit.lol@outlook.com.
Can other people see my child's essays?
No. Essay drafts and private notes are visible only to your student. Not other students, not us for advertising, and — importantly — not you, even after your student links you as a parent. Essays are the most personal thing here, and we treat that privacy as a feature, not a setting.
What can I see as a parent — and what can't I?
Progress, not the private stuff. When your student invites you (they start it, not us), you get a weekly email summary and a read-only view of their progress: what they've finished, what's due in the next couple of weeks, and how far along each application is.
You do not see essay drafts, private notes, or their conversations with the AI advisor — ever. This is deliberate, and we say it to your student too: your progress is shared, your writing is yours. Your student can end the link at any time from their settings, and you can unsubscribe from the weekly email while staying linked.
Do you sell our data?
No — never.We don't sell or rent your personal information to anyone, and we don't show ads. Admit is paid for by the people who choose to upgrade to Pro, not by monetizing your family's data.
Do you train AI on my child's essays?
No.We don't train AI models on your student's essays. To power Pro features — the advisor and essay feedback — parts of your student's profile and essay text are sent to our AI provider to generate a response for that request. What data do you actually store?
Only what runs the product.Your student's name and email, and the academic information they choose to add — graduation year, GPA, test scores, the colleges they're tracking, essays, activities, and their goals. That's it. We use it to run their dashboard and personalize their roadmap and guidance.
Where do payments go?
To Stripe, not to us. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
How do we delete our account and data?
Email us and it's done. Your student can edit or remove individual items anytime from their profile. To delete the entire account and its data, email admit.lol@outlook.com and we'll take care of it. (A self-serve delete button is on our near-term list.)
My child is a minor. What about privacy laws?
Admit is built for high schoolers, and we're careful with their data. A few honest specifics, in plain terms:
- Under 13:Admit isn't for children under 13, and we ask them not to create accounts (this is the group COPPA is designed to protect).
- FERPA: that law governs education records held by schoolsthat receive federal funding. Admit is a tool you and your student choose to use directly — we are not your child's school and don't receive their official school records — so FERPA doesn't govern us. We still handle academic data with care.
- Either way: the privacy commitments on this page apply to every account, minor or not.
